Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Accounting Manager and will be an integral member of the Accounting and Financial Reporting team.
This highly motivated individual will support all aspects of accounting including reporting and analysis.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for timely and accurate reporting needed by stakeholders to effectively manage the business, satisfy reporting obligations and support critical business decisions.
This person will complete special projects and must be able to balance and prioritize multiple tasks, as well as, deliver high-quality results and customer service to various levels of management across the company.
Responsibilities:
Prepare ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual management reports and supporting schedules for internal and external reporting requirements, ensuring conformity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Reconcile monthly statements and prepare various journal entries monthly.
Review and monitor transactions in the general ledger/ ensure accounts are properly reconciled.
Identify areas for improvement in process, internal control, and financial reporting.
Ensure all financial reporting obligations are met in a timely and accurate manner.
Serve as a liaison to external auditors, providing requested audit information as needed.
Develop schedules in support of government reporting requirements, as requested.
Seek process improvement to support reporting and analytical activities.
This includes leveraging the SAP general ledger system and other software tools to develop reports and queries.
Participate in implementing changes to financial reporting processes by incorporating new functionality into system reports and leveraging new tools to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial information.
Exhibit strong data extraction analysis ability using SAP or other financial applications.
Perform monthly monitoring procedures including internal control testing and communication of results.
Works closely with payroll personnel to research, and, if necessary, correct any errors discovered in the research.
Performs monthly account analysis in support of monitoring the effectiveness of the billing rates.
Requirements:
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or candidate preferred.
Minimum 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office; specifically Excel and Word.
Experience with SAP or other large ERP systems is a plus.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
