Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes performing basic visual tests such as lensometry, keratometry, ocular motility tests, visual field testing; ordering or performing inventory of treatment equipment; surgical technician duties such as prepping equipment, preparing and manning a surgical table and assisting in routine ocular surgeries, such as cataract, retina, oculoplastic, strabismus and glaucoma surgery; recording data into a health care system such as Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Applications (AHLTA), or Composite Health Care System (CHCS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
