CONTRACT SPECIALIST

The incumbent is responsible for contract specialist pre- and post-award functions. Attends planning meetings and independently plans procurement actions. Duties include preparation of solicitations and supporting documentation, analyzing quotes, performing price and technical analysis, and preparing contract award documents. This individual will be responsible for administration of contracts after award including correspondence, modifications, and resolution of performance issues. In addition to the mandatory education requirement, all applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
GS-11:
1) Reviewing requisitions and determining the appropriate method of procurement; 2) Preparing and issuing solicitation documents; and 3) Performing detailed analysis of bids or proposals received. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
