Nurse Specialist (Research)

If selected for the position, you will perform the following duties:
Manage protocols relating to human subjects research under the auspices of NIH IRB-approved clinical research protocols. Guide research protocols through the review cycle of submission, initial review, continuing review, amendments, and reporting. Provide leadership to ensure patient safety, protocol integrity and accurate data collection Serve as a primary contact point for investigator(s) for protocol procedures and maintain compliance with current regulations, policies, and SOPs. Serve as an expert for a specified patient population to minimize the effects of a disease/condition and associated study intervention on a study participant. Provide clinical trial coordination and implementation, data and protocol management. Serve in informal leadership positions as an expert in a clinical or research specialty area. Serve as a role model for professional practice, collaboration and communication. In order to qualify for a Nurse Specialist (Research)GS-610-12/13 position, you must have the following:
A. a graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program. Note:
Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools; AND B. passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN); AND C. possess a current, active, full and unrestricted license, or registration as a professional nurse from a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Additional Qualifications In addition, in order to qualify for a Nurse Specialist (Research) position at the GS-12 level, you must have:
You must have at least one year of Nurse Specialist (Research) to at least the GS-11 in the federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of task; recruiting and screening new patients and monitoring participant responses to study and clinical treatment; collecting research data/samples and managing specific nursing aspects of clinical protocols within a research program; providing patient and family counseling, health education, and serving as a patient advocate along with other health care professionals; coordinates multi-step evaluations, treatments, or studies with clinical, scientific, or administrative personnel. GS-13 In addition, in order to qualify for a Nurse Specialist (Research) position at the GS-13 level, you must have:
You must have at least one year of Nurse (Research Specialist) experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks:
providing guidance in comprehensive nursing, preventative, and therapeutic health care services to patients and family members; managing multiple clinical protocols within a research program (e.g., collecting research data/samples); training nursing staff in the administration of research programs, including the ethical and legal aspects of nursing care and clinical trials; aids in performing quality assurance and quality control activities as they relate to study adherence, study monitoring, data collection, data abstraction, and data analysis. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
