A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0610 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 7, 2017 or before. You will be required to provide approximate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.
Experience:
In addition to the requirements listed above, you must also meet one of the following:
Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field; OR at least one or more years of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level); which includes:
professional nursing care duties to patients with neurobehavioral illness such as Traumatic Brain Injury, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder; developing/implementing psychosocial assessments and care plans; medical/surgical or psychiatric nursing care AND possession of a diploma, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
