Spectrum Analyst / Junior Developer
Job Description Spectrum AnalystDeveloper Position Description The candidate will support spectrum sharing activities both as an analyst and junior developer for coordination activities in 1755-1780 MHz (AWS-3) frequency bands.
Work areas include modeling of environmental signal propagation, LTE sector emissions, and general systems engineering related to the DoD asset transition in these bands.
Qualified candidates MUST hold an active SECRET level clearance.
The candidate will work in and provide support within the following areas Propagation Advance electromagnetic propagation algorithms in Cplusplus inclusive of troubleshooting and guided enhancements from senior engineers and perform associated analysis runs and consolidate results for presentation Maintainexpandutilize database of clutter loss measurements gathered during numerous measurement campaigns in support of SSTD Use various propagation models to augment datasets with simulated loss values.
Use measurements to validaterefine these propagation models, to be used to update EEPAC's statistical clutter loss component.
Thoroughly document measurement dataapply QC techniques to refine Use validated modeling tools to generate statistical distributions of environmental clutter loss in areas not covered by measured data, spanning CONUS.
Model environmental clutter in an initial general, and increasingly site-specific sense.
LTE Use captured LTE emission data as well as vendor-provided sector performance indicator data to characterize LTE emission activity and validate various modeling techniques.
Model sector emissions in an initial general, and increasingly site-specific sense.
Use modeling techniques to generate representative statistical distributions of LTE sector transmission power, to update statistical models.
Systems Analyzepresent findings of the DoD system transition progress as AWS-3 systems leave the band.
Create visualizationscharts representing current status, as well as investigate specific priority areas as requested by the DSO customer, to help guide future work in modeling AWS-3.
Use geographic Information System (GIS) software together with other data sources to extract statistics Required SkillsExperience Experience working with object-oriented design patterns, algorithm design and optimization, computer architecture, data structures Familiarity with the following OS their command-line shells LinuxUnix Windows Familiarity with the following development environments languages.
