Audit Readiness Consultant

Work You'll Do
As a Consultant within our practice, you will:

  • Work with clients to identify financial control issues and gaps

  • Design and implement technical solutions to improve financial management activities

  • Assist with accounting and financial reporting operations

  • Advise our clients on technical accounting and internal controls matters

  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies in process and innovative approaches to completing the scope of work

  • Actively expand consulting skills and professional development through training courses, mentoring, and daily interaction with clients


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or other Business-related field

  • 1-3 years of experience in Audit readiness, to include Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR), and OMB Circular A-123

  • 1-3 years of experience performing process improvement, gap analysis, SOP development, or Policy development

  • 0-1+ year of experience performing financial statement audits and/or auditability assessments

  • 0-1+ year of experience in reviewing, analyzing, validating, and reconciling financial/accounting information

  • Prior experience improving Federal accounting and transaction processes, internal control objectives and generally accepted accounting principles

  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for this role


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with U.S. government financial accounting systems

  • Certifications including CPA, CDFM, CGFM, CFA

  • Big 4 experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
