Senior Manager, Online Merchandising & Optimization
.
Responsibilities include: The Senior Manager, Online Merchandising & Optimization will play a key role in identifying and executing many of the new online merchandising strategies for Marriott.com and Marriott's global sites. This role will utilize new and evolving capabilities to enhance the customer's onsite experience through targeted messaging and placements. Partnering with the broader eCommerce team, this role will use industry best practices to identify opportunities to optimize content and conversion throughout the site. This role will also partner closely with the User Research group to devise, execute, measure, and scale various multivariate tests with the goal of improving conversion and revenue per visitor. Candidate must understand online consumer behavior and have experience using design to influence engagement.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
5-7 years of Online Marketing, Merchandising and/or eCommerce experience
College degree in Marketing, International Business or related field, MBA preferred
Direct experience managing merchandising strategies in an eCommerce organization
Hands-on experience in direct to consumer marketing communications, ideally in the retail and/or
eCommerce space
Proven skill in working across multiple and distinct functional organizations (e.g., IT, International,
Marketing) in support of specific business priorities
Demonstrated comfort with Web Analytics or similar retail store reporting
Effective written and oral communications skills, with particular sensitivity to global communication needs
Strong understanding of A/B and multi-variate testing approaches

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Customer Experience Optimization
Lead initiatives with the User Research and Analytics teams to help define on-going Marriott.com tests designed to improve conversion and increase revenue per visitor
Engage a cross functional team to evaluate current merchandising and onsite marketing capabilities and technologies
Working with the Product Development and User Research teams, drive the strategy to continue to build an industry-leading merchandising platform
Partner with appropriate marketing teams (Brand Marketing, eMail, Search, etc) and eCommerce Product Development to devise optimization plans that test, adjust, and scale up improvements
Evaluate current onsite content identifying gaps and opportunities to improve pathway performance
