Database Administrator / Data Engineer with Vertica Experience
Our Database team 's responsibilities happen to be at the confluence of two of the most exciting fields in the world of high tech today: Network Security and Data Analytics. We're looking for a Database Administrator / Data Engineer to help grow this team.
You'll be supporting feature development for our products with an embedded Vertica database. Your responsibilities include schema and projection design, query optimization, upgrade and expansion, etc. Depending on your experience and abilities, you'll also be developing features in scripts and/or C++.
Expert level SQL programming skills.
At least 3 years experience designing, maintaining and optimizing databases.
At least 1 year of experience working with Vertica.
Familiarity with programming in C/C++ (proficiency would be a plus).
Experience with scripting languages such as PHP, Perl, Python, Bash.
5-10 years of relevant experience.
MSCS (or equivalent) is required.
The position is located in Bethesda, MD or remote office (and if remote, 10-20% required travel).
Security Clearance is not required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
