Job DescriptionJob Summary As a member of Marriott's Global Finance organization, the Accounting Assistant II contributes with multiple facets of project accounting tasks in support of Global Design Procurement.
Generally, works under close supervision or within well-established guidelines to complete routine tasks in support of assigned areas with minimal complexity/financial risk.
The primary responsibility of this position includes project accounting support as follows:
Administer project files ensuring all documentation pertinent to the project set-up/closing is complete and streamline Buyer Closing package preparations.
Complete OS&E project setups and deposit process; validate all project set-up documents for completion and accuracy and uploads to SharePoint site.
Review applicable sales tax rates and basis to ensure taxes are accrued and paid in accordance with state regulations and coordinate validation of tax exemption certificates.
Complete Lien Waiver notarization requests, Vendor Set-ups, and manage timely processing.
Pursue collection of project Accounts Receivable balances:
Identify payment trends, understand deposit balances, draw-timeframes, and owner payment process.
Process closing refunds and assist in minimal closeout activities in support of Project Accountants and Management.
Review AP Clearing account monthly to ensure items are properly identified and balances cleared, including, and not limited to, processing of vendor reimbursement checks.
May include limited interaction with owners and other project/department management on special project-set ups.
Manage AC Finance and GD Finance shared mailboxes.
Support Team Leader in process improvement opportunities to drive consistent tools and processes by using technology.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Candidate ProfileEducation/Experience Bachelor's Degree (Accounting/ Finance major a plus) or equivalent experience 0-2 years professional experience Key Skills PeopleSoft software experience preferred Basic knowledge of accounting and auditing principles preferred Strong interpersonal and oral/written communications skills required Strong PC skills:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
