Understands functional and technical capabilities of applications to meet current and future testing requirements.
Defines and creates the next generation of solutions to drive application value and speed to flawless implementation and integration.
Drives the creation and adoption of automated testing to facilitate innovation, quality, and speed to market.
Partners with vendor and internal Marriott teams to provide leadership, strategy, and orchestration of all testing events to ensure that quality gates are met consistently, drive automation, and coordinate all impacted groups across the enterprise.
Provides expert guidance on test environment strategy, setup, and configuration.
Establishes processes for monitoring and improving testing processes.
Resolves and makes decisions on complex, non-routine service requests with moderate to high risk for new and existing systems.
The Testing and QE product produces services including Enterprise Testing, Environment Management, QE, Tools and Automation.
Drive Enterprise Testing activities and release readiness criteria across a shifting set of enterprise products on an on-going basis.
Orchestrate complex testing environment in coordination application engineering / testing teams.
Improve overall Quality Assurance by setting baseline, target improvements, and measuring progress.
Move and maintain the enterprise testing capability to a best in class service.
CANDIDATE PROFILEEducation and ExperienceRequired:
Undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification 5
years of IT leadership experience with a blend of deep technical knowledge and a customer-focused mindset 10
years in an IT role as a strategic thinker that relates technology solutions to customer use cases 8
years' experience engaging highly technical architecture, engineering and operations teams and driving outcomes with QA automation 8
years' experience in software development, test engineering, with expert-level expertise in multiple testing methodologies Preferred:
Graduate Degree in a technical discipline Comfortable applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to define success Experience in the design, implementation and operational support of mission critical products Strong influencing skills and an ability to overcome barriers while driving change Ability to build strong relationships and network throughout the broader IT community Experience in researching emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders and IT teams Strong knowledge of emerging tools, software, applications, and systems for attaining best-in-class IT technology across the enterprise Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities Experience with DevOps tools (e.

Git, JIRA, Ant, Maven, Jenkins) Experience in waterfall, agile, and hybrid software methodologies Demonstrated ability to anticipate future software engineering opportunities as related to improving quality Technology leadership experience in a sourced environment CORE WORK ACTIVITIESTechnical Leadership Trains and mentors Quality Engineering team and peers as appropriate in the use of testing tools and procedures Establishes a consistent approach to creating test data and conditions for test scenarios Provides direction for QE automation application development including leading automation script reviews Harmonizes multiple testing events as required to communicate release readiness Establishes processes to manage defect lists and related reporting to stakeholders Collaborates with Infrastructure and application development/delivery leadership to continuously improve testing capabilities Provides financial input on department or project budgets, capital expenditures or other cost/resource estimates as requested Identifies opportunities to enhance the service delivery processes.
Delivering Technology Reviews complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for delivering automated testing processes and tools Validates that team is reviewing and documenting testing schedules and expected testing results Collaborates with architecture teams to ensure viable testing solutions Works with project teams to confirm that testing is considered and scheduled in the overall project plan and that test plans are developed and executed Validates the creation and documentation of testing standards and best practice knowledge repository Facilitates achievement of expected deliverables and obligations of Services Providers Validates completeness of requirements and their intersection with quality processes prior to Service Provider solutioning Ensures all projects follow the defined SDLC (e.
g.
waterfall, agile) Ensures proper coordination with appropriate IT and vendor relations teams Provides consultation for routine and complex quality systems development Ensures early warning to the business stakeholder executives regarding degraded or missed service levels Coordinates with Operations and Infrastructure teams for deployment and production support activities IT Governance Follows all defined IT standards and processes (i.

IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.
), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk Follows the defined project management standards and processes for Quality Assurance Service Provider Management Validates that Service Providers develop and manage respective aspects of a project plan, including schedules, deliverables, and appropriate metrics.

In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants.
