Contributes advanced knowledge and skill in technology and applies sound business acumen to support cluster and information technology (IT) objectives specifically in Property Internet space for US & Canada.
Responsible for assisting day to day execution of services related to the support of end users and/or managed and participating franchise hotels in the Americas with technology and security planning, service desk engagement, implementation, and maintenance.
May also direct the work of Manager, IT (Centralized Team) and Analyst, IT (Centralized Team).
Responsible for providing centralized IT services through remote delivery to all participating hotels regardless of size, ownership, complexity or brand.
Will assist with establishing repeatable efficient service delivery processes, identifying service delivery tracking metrics, and measuring effectiveness of the processes and the central team performance against the metrics.
May also assist with identifying training needs of both the central team and the end users and participate in the creation of job aids and other learning tools.
Has knowledge of sophisticated technology equipment/processes via Smartsheet and PowerBI.
Has in depth knowledge of Networking and Server/Desktop Operating Systems (Microsoft Windows based Operating System) and a strong understanding of local property technical configurations and the impact on operations.
Participate in activities and/or alpha/beta/pilots in support of the delivery of new tools, initiatives or processes on behalf of participating hotels.
CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Required:
o Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences or related field or equivalent experience / certification o 7 years experience in managing Property Internet.
Preferred:
o Previous experience supporting highly complex units (e.
g.
, resorts, enhanced GPNS systems, high number of network devices).
o System-related professional certifications desired.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Meeting Client Technology Needs o Handles multiple priorities in support of applications, hardware and operating systems.
o Verifies compliance across various discipline specific standards, varying by Associate's specific role/team (i.
e.
, Service Desk Engagement, Security and PCI Compliance, 3rd Party Vendor Support, Technical Resource Standards).
o Drives the compliance of IT policies and standards, thereby protecting company hardware, software and other resources at the hotel.
o Advocates market technology needs and requirements to key stakeholders, clearly and effectively articulates Americas IT requirements for Property Infrastructure to Americas IT Associates and Franchise Partners.
o Audits Americas IT inventories for compliance (i.
e.
, verifying software inventory compliance, hardware inventories).
o Confirms that technology assets are secure and well-maintained in accordance with Marriott International policies and standards.
o Provides input and follows standard SOP's for security, compliance, change control and DR.
o Serves as escalation point and reference to field IT associates for implementation needs and requirements and escalates problems as appropriate through Americas IT, HQ IT departments as needed.
o Performs routine to complex desktop backup as scheduled or directed.
o Responds to complex questions and problems with minimal guidance.
o May direct and/or influence the work of management.
o Creates and maintains secure server environment.
Performs server backups and routine/non-routine preventative maintenance.
o Executes disaster recovery plans.
Supporting On-Property Projects and Global Initiatives o Manages projects and follows business processes with little supervision or guidance.
o Provides IT expertise and knowledge on projects & technology to participating properties and/or to stakeholders.
o As needed, leads a small project team.
o Reviews solutions and processes developed by vendors engaged on the project.
o Supports communications for all new applications/system installations and problem resolution.
Managing Work within Budget Targets o Researches cost-benefits analyses to help leadership makes decisions and set priorities.
o Oversees compliance with appropriate Marriott International Policies and Information Security Manuals.
Determines solutions and implements per SOP.
o Conducts periodic inventories of applications and hardware; prepares reports for property management.
o Assists in the reviews of vendor proposals to determine appropriate vendor selection for local technologies/hardware.
o Confirms compliance to technology-related vendor contracts.
