Performs daily Quality Assurance tests of equipment operability, records results and informs Clinical Physicist of any test failures or operational issues.
Assists in the development of a treatment positioning and immobilization approach which is customized to each patient and provides a stable and reproducible, yet comfortable treatment position.

Places patients in a reproducible, accurate treatment position for data acquisition and treatment.
Properly utilizes positional aids such as Vac-Loc bags and head masks for reproducibility.
Operates CT Simulator to acquire treatment planning image sets as requested by a physician, including respiratory gating motion sequences.
Transfers said image sets to the ARIA database for use in the Eclipse or Oncentra treatment planning systems.
Downloads patient treatment parameter sets to linear accelerators for daily patient treatment.
Identifies patients and match them to their treatment sets and to position them on the treatment table in the same position as simulation.
Acquires pre-treatment images using the on-board imaging capabilities of the accelerator to acquire kilovoltage and megavoltage images as well ca cone-beam CT scans and present them for review by a Staff Physician.
Operates positioning and tracking equipment such as Respiratory gating, Optical Surface Monitoring System (OSMS) or Calypso radiofrequency transponder tracking system.
Ensures that the proper treatment accessories are in place, delivers the treatment and records the results both electronically and manually.

Operates a High Dose-Rate Remote Afterloader to treat patients receiving brachytherapy via stepped radioactive source.

Preforms weekly inspections of treatment related aids and devices.
Identifies defective units and informs the Chief Therapist.
Qualifications Education:
Associates degree in Radiologic Technology with specialization in Radiation Therapy Technology (BS preferred) Certification:

Certified by the American Association of Radiation Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy Technology.
Licensure as RTT in Maryland Years of
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years Other Requirements:

Shall demonstrate the ability to fabricate focused blocks and electron beam cutouts.

Shall be experienced in operating the following equipment:
