Job Details Description Join the HJF Team! HJF is seeking a Senior Director of Scientific Operations to support the Center for Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine (CNRM) located at the Rockledge Office in Bethesda, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical, and programmatic support services to CNRM. This is a hybrid work environment with flexibility to telework a few days per week. This position serves as Senior Director of the CNRM scientific operations including observational and therapeutic clinical studies, biomarkers, informatics, translational therapeutics, neuroradiological/neuropathological correlations, operational research, and fellowship training activities. Serves as a peer in close coordination with the Senior Directors of Clinical Operations and Finance. Provides scientific leadership for the above listed activities across a multi-center consortium that features internal and external collaborators. Serves as a member of the CNRM leadership team. Works with the leadership team to establish new scientific partnerships, strategies, and sources of funding. NOTE:

Responsibilities:
Plans and directs research activities relating to the investigation of novel diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for traumatic brain injury and related conditions involving brain health. Collaborates with other multidisciplinary teams both internal and external as well as the center's leadership team in service of this goal. (15%) Develops, implements, and evaluates procedures for the center in the areas of observational clinical studies, biomarkers, informatics, translational therapeutics, neuroradiological/neuropathological correlations, operational research, and fellowship training. (15%) Supervises clinical, laboratory science, informatics, and statistics researchers as well as fellowship trainees. (15%) Collaborates on the planning, review, and adjustment of annual budgets with other members of the center leadership team, particularly pertaining to the scientific staff and projects and assures that funds are appropriated and administered correctly in conjunction with the Senior Director for Finance and the Executive Director of Operations. (10%) Ensures the scientific integrity of the center through the application of best practices in scientific research, fluid biomarker management, data management, analytics, and computational sciences, as well as implementation of quality assurance and quality control systems, SOPs, and GCP among other techniques. Develops strategies for future funding opportunities. (15%) Develops and advocates scientific strategies in execution of the center's mission and vision. Participates in activities to promote the center at both internal and external events including scientific meetings and presentations, development of scientific communications including progress reports, abstracts, and manuscripts, among others. (15%) May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of complex clinical, preclinical, and scientific procedures and experiments; ability to take initiative and develop new protocols; knowledge/understanding; excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication, administrative, management, and leadership skills. Substantial expertise in one or more of the following domains preferred:
Traumatic Brain Injury research- mild/moderate/severe in acute, subacute, or chronic phase Strategic planning in a research environment Communicating in a multi-disciplinary and multi departmental environment. Objective assessments of military-relevant cognitive performance Training and mentorship of doctoral and post-doctoral fellows Fluid biomarker assay development and quality control, along with biofluid repository management, Informatics as applied to clinical studies, including handling of PHI and PII in the Department of Defence Minimum Education:
Doctoral Degree required. MD or PhD or equivalent experience. Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements:

This is a hybrid work environment with flexibility to telework a few days per week. Background/Security:
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Tier I investigation/Public Trust and a Common Access Card (CAC). Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
