So, we ask, where will your journey take you?JOB SUMMARYA$ A' A' ?The Global Insurance team is responsible for insurance program negotiation and design, as well as review of legal agreements to limit the corporation's exposure to loss and ensure regulatory and contractual compliance.
Insurance provided by franchisees is also monitored to ensure coverages are adequate to protect Marriott from uninsured risks.
As a member of the Americas Insurance team, the Manager, Insurance - Americas will be responsible for serving US & Canada operations.
This position may sit remote and will report to the Director, Insurance - Americas.
This position supports the Insurance Department in managing Marriott's insurance programs to protect the corporation and its customers against various property, liability, employee, and financial risks.
The Manager, Insurance - Americas administers critical elements of Marriott's Domestic Primary, Global Excess Casualty, Employment Practices, and Wage & Hour insurance programs (ProgramsA' ), in addition to administration of critical insurance elements of Marriott's Consumer Operations and residential risk management programs.
This position supports the evolving needs of new business ventures, including Marriott Homes & Villas, online travel and excursion business, Bonvoy Loyalty programs, IT cyber security and privacy support, group sales, and other related businesses.
Together with the Director, Insurance - Americas, the position will compile, model, analyze, and interpret data as necessary to make actionable decisions that help in reducing the Company's total cost of risk.
The position will also oversee non-Marriott procured insurance compliance, contract review and consult to owner insurance programs.
He/she will be expected to manage one's workload with limited direction, and must be adept at tapping diverse sources of information, identifying profitable opportunities, anticipating challenges, devising and executing breakthrough strategies/approaches to develop teams and deliver against the current and future business priorities.
The position will also engage and partner with insurers, brokers, peer departments, and key business leaders, thereby strengthening Marriott's competitive advantage through excellence in risk management.
The position requires a detail-oriented person with excellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skills, as well as a demonstrated commitment to the risk management disciplineEXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONSPosition will partner with Director, Insurance - Americas in determining program strategy and structure, and will help with placement and management of the domestic primary, global excess casualty, employment practices, and wage & hour insurance programs.
Manage and maintain data collection process for renewal of all requisite Programs and reconcile renewal exposure information as necessary.
Assist with management of broker relationships and partner with Risk Finance to determine insurance program premium rate adequacy, optimal use of retentions, and administer the equitable allocation of premium in effort to minimize loss costs to hotels.
Provide primary insurance support of residential mixed use and luxury brand projectsPartner with peer departments to understand Residences strategy and lead Insurance team's day to day supportSupport analysis and negotiation of contractual and indemnity provisionsProvide general analysis and consult to owners/lenders regarding limit adequacyMaintain necessary program schedulesServe as Brand/Marketing Insurance Business PartnerSupport IT Services department on contract negotiations including insurance, indemnification, and liability caps - Ongoing development of insurance limits and levels for the various IT initiatives that are constantly changingSupport the insurance and indemnity negotiations for online travel agency (OTA) and travel partnerships including excursion programs - For businesses where Marriot has an ownership percentage, manage the insurance placement, and review the insurance needs of the business ventures including Design Hotels, Marriott-Viator, and similar businessesProvide insurance support for Marriott Rewards global initiatives including partnerships both from a contract and BCA perspectiveAssist in providing contract review and negotiation of insurance and indemnification provisions within operational and financing agreement for all brands within the Americas organization.
Support, with the input of the Director, Insurance - Americas the corporate insurance needs for Marriott's Consumer Operations, Technology & Emerging Businesses ventures.
Manage analysis and review of Business Case Analyses (BCA) in partnership with Global Safety & Security Department representative(s) and recommend appropriate insurance language for activities that fall within high-risk categories.
Coordinate Risk Management's due diligence support to Legal Dept.
for company public debt offerings.
Support Director, Insurance - Americas on any special projects including training for hotel level associates and above property departments.
CANDIDATE PROFILEAt least 5 years of relevant insurance underwriting, risk management, or insurance brokerage experienceDemonstrated analytical skills and ability to identify trends when reviewing large amounts of dataDemonstrated experience in contract review and negotiation of business contracts or agreementsExperience with large casualty insurance programs, use of captives, coverage triggers, or alternative risk finance tools a plusExcellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsStrong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills; ability to take large volume so complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner appropriate for senior management diction makingDemonstrated knowledge and familiarity with risk management tools - particularly RMIS systems, rating methodology, governance frameworks, and processes.
Ability to identify process improvement and implement best practicesStrong interpersonal skills to influence and communicate effectively with insurance and non-insurance professionalsDemonstrated proficiency in Excel, MS Word, Outlook, Access, and PowerPointAbility to work independently and prioritize multiple projects while meeting required goals and deadlinesAbility to make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incompletes information and under tight deadlines and pressure.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
