Financial Reporting & Analysis - Assistant Manager
Responsibilities include: The Assistant Manager will report to the Senior Manager Limited Service, Financial Reporting and Analysis and be an integral member of the Lodging Finance team. This highly motivated individual will be responsible for P&L and statistical reporting and planning for one or more Limited Service brand(s), balance sheet and cash flow financial reporting, support the completion of the Limited Service P&L, balance sheet and cash flow projects, and have a wide range of responsibilities supporting several key systems, reporting & accounting functions and analytical activities. This person will be involved in special projects and must be able to manage multiple tasks at a time.
Overall Responsibilities include:
I. P&L Reporting
Manage the preparation of periodic and quarterly reporting and analysis functions for one or more Limited Service brand(s). This includes review of managed and franchise operating results for accuracy, preparation of the brand profit and loss statements, profit bridges, statistics, external sales, BOD packages, and other financial and statistical supporting schedules.
Manage the P&L forecast process for one or more Limited Service brand(s). Lead preparation and analysis process ensuring an up to date and reasonable forecast.
Prepare financial reports, queries and ad-hoc analytical schedules as requested by Senior Management.
Maintain a list of risks and opportunities as they relate to the designated brand(s). The list will include properties that are deemed risks on the impairment and guarantee schedules as well as on AMAC and CGC documents.
II. Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Reporting
Prepare the balance sheet reports for a designated brand(s) including performing analytical tests, identifying key trends and highlighting critical variances and exposures as needed.
Liaison with Lodging departments in overseeing the brand balance sheet. Ensure that the balance sheet is accurate; properly reflects accounts in appropriate captions.
Complete cash flow reports and development of accurate cash flow forecasts.
Complete special projects as assigned by the Senior Manager or Director.
III. LRP, Business Plan and Audit Process
Lead and coordinate the preparation of the Long Range Plan for one or more Limited Service brand(s). This includes preparation of the managed and franchise P&L requirements, statistics, various other supporting schedules, and assisting in the preparation of cash flow reporting requirements for the designated brand(s).
Prepare the annual Business Plan for the designated brand(s). This includes preparation of the managed and franchise P&L requirements, statistics, various other supporting schedules, and assisting in the preparation of cash flow reporting requirements for the designated brand(s).
Participate in the annual audit process. Prepare all interim and year-end P&L related PBCs for the designated brand(s).
IV. Additional Responsibilities
Assist in efforts to identify Limited Service Segment opportunities to streamline financial reporting processes. Assist in the implementation of such changes.
Participate in department efforts to leverage EPM and Hyperion Financial Management (Smartview, Hyperion Financial Reports) to meet Marriott's external reporting requirement. Establish policies and procedures to leverage the new reporting tools.
Complete special reporting and analytical projects for the Limited Service Segment or at the Consolidated level as assigned by Senior Manager or Director.
Assist with other FR&A reporting and special projects, including but not limited to, quarterly Press Release and Script.
Skill Requirements:
Four or more years of progressive job experience in accounting.
Strong computer skills. Experience with Excel, Peoplesoft and the Hyperion Reporting Suite preferred.
Experience in Marriott Lodging a plus.
Ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects while meeting required goals and deadlines.
Strong customer relations skills. Customer service orientation.
Positive attitude and a high level of enthusiasm and energy.
Self-starter and highly motivated. Proactive in identifying and solving issues.
Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with peers and all levels of management.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
CPA preferred.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
